Belenenses sack Casemiro Mior

Brazilian tactician ousted after poor start

Belenenses have parted ways with head coach, Casemiro Mior. The Brazilian tactician only lasted five games into the season before he was given his marching orders.

Mior took over at the helm from Jorge Jesus this past summer and has failed to lived up to the club’s expectations as Belenenses currently sit in penultimate place in the table.

The club have only managed two draws and three defeats, scoring three goals and conceding eight under Mior’s leadership.

The writing was on the wall and the club’s administration decided to pull the plug in order to stop the haemorrhaging.

Blues executive, Helio Nascimento, confirmed Mior has been relieved of his duties and that the club plan on naming a replacement within the next two to three days.

The only requirements that the new coach should have are that he is “familiar with the game in Portugal” and must possess “tactical and technical capabilities,” according to Nascimento.

Mior becomes the Liga’s second coaching casualty behind Antonio Conceicao, who was let go from his post at Trofense a week ago.
