Pedro Emanuel

Pedro Emanuel, the central defender and captain of Portuguese champions, FC Porto, has renewed his contract for another season, extending his stay with the Dragons until the end of 2008/09.

A leader in the pitch, Emanuel has been rewarded for the solid performances and experience shown at the three-time Portuguese champions.

The 33-year-old said “We want to win the championship next season again for the 4th consecutive year. We want to play even better. Our performances this season were good but it seems some people forget that. We want more next season.”

“I know it won’t be easy but I’m sure we can do more and better for Porto,” added the former Boavista stopper. “This contract is a sign of confidence from the hierarchy. I am extremely happy about that.”
