FC Porto: Argentine Nelson Benitez snapped up
Inter Milan chase Ricardo Quaresma
Porto have signed yet another player from Argentina, spending 1 million euros for 50% ownership of left-back Nelson Benitez for the next 4 seasons.
Possibly leaving the Estadio do Dragao will be wing wizard Ricardo Quaresma, who is reportedly high up on Inter Milan’s shopping list.
The 24-year-old Argentine, Benitez, has represented Lanus, Gimnasia Jujuy and Talleres de Cordoba. Last season he entered in Lanus history by winning the team’s first ever Argentine championship (Torneio de Clausura 2007).
He will fight for a place in the team with Fucile and Marek Cech, and said he was delighted to embark on his first European experience.
Quaresma off to Italy?
In other Porto news, winger Ricardo Quaresma is been reported to be close to signing for Italian giants Internazionale.
Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho is to be officially presented with the 3-time Italian champions this week, and one of his priorities is Portugal star Quaresma.
Negotiations have already started, but Porto will only let the player go to Milan if they pay around 40 millions euros. Inter’s directors say they are only prepared to go to a 30 million maximum.
