Braga striker Linz thrilled at FC Porto interest
Austrian marksman targeted by Portuguese champions
After snapping up Cristian Rodriguez from the grips of Benfica, it appears that FC Porto are ready to raid another of their rivals having targeted striker Roland Linz.
The Sporting Braga ace has been reported to be coveted by the Portuguese champions and the striker would not hesitate at making a move to the Dragons.
Linz only joined Braga last season and still has two years left on his contract, but the Austrian is flattered by the news and sees Porto as a step in the right direction in his career.
“This is the first time I’ve heard of this possibility and I am really surprised. I do not know what to say,” declared Linz. “I still have two years left on my contract, but we will see what happens because FC Porto are a big club.”
Should a move be finalized then the forward will reunite with former boss Jesualdo Ferreira. The two worked together when both were at Boavista and Linz had nothing but nice things to say about the Portuguese tactician.
“He was my coach at Boavista and, without a doubt, he is an excellent coach.”
Should the move go ahead Linz faces a battle to get into the team at Porto as he will be competing with Lisandro Lopez, Sektioui, Farias and Adriano for a place up front. Not to mention that the Dragons still have Renteria and Edgar on their books as well.
