The Key Players

Cristiano Ronaldo

MAJESTIC MIDFIELD:

Without a doubt Portugal’s midfield is considered one of the best in the world, they have the versatile playmakers who can create, assist and score at any time and are a real back bone of the team, they have the skilful Deco, the experienced Petit and the addition of new energetic players like Joao Moutinho, Miguel Veloso and Raul Meireles have made a great impact and have boosted the squad along with the stability.

TRICKY WINGERS:

Ricardo Quaresma, Simao Sabrosa,Nani...u cant have such an example of so many tricky, efficient wingers in one team, they have all the tricks and efficiency in the bag, and the capability to score at crucial moments.

Nani (The Champions league winner with Man Utd) will be a player to look for and Especially Quaresma, the portuguese liga’s best player, is the main man to watch and he himself told that he is ready to make a mark in the euros as he was unjustly omitted from the 2006 world cup in Germany. And he is ready to make a magnificent partnership with C.Ronaldo.

CLASSY STRIKER:

As Portugal mostly prefer one striker so Nuno Gomes will be mainly in front, he is a perfect man to lead the attack and has a classy finishing stlye. And will surely be ready to score more and more, with the great assistance from the mid field.

CHARISMATIC CRISTIANO RONALDO:

The best player in the world, the top scorer with 42 goals in the season, The English Premier League title holder for the second consecutive time,PFA player of the year, players player of the year, fans player of the year, Sir Matt Busby player of the year, Man Utd Player of the year, Uefa champions league player of the year, and finally led Manchester United to there 3rd Uefa Champions League winner, he was the top scorer in champions league too with 8 goals and got the most crucial goal in the final which gave manutd the lead, later he missed a penalty in the shoot-out but if it was not for his goal in the normal time, manutd wouldn’t have reached to the shoot out, and finally won 6-5 on penalties(1-1 a.e.t).He played a main role in the whole campaign in which Man Utd remained unbeaten. A phenomenal record.

What else u want in such a decorated CV ,a Euro trophy and it cant be a better time then this ,he is in the form of his life, unstoppable ,flawless and with amazing accuracy and speed.

He must be very keen to lead Portugal to the European glory, He has more responsibility on his shoulders now after the legendary Luis Figo’s retirement. He is doing a great job, he has taken over Figo’s title of "The Wonder Boy Of Portugal" and is sure and all pumped up to get the first ever Euro trophy for Portugal.

FORMATION:

The advantage which Scolari has is that his team can play in many different formations like the preferred one 4-2-3-1 or can any time change in to 4-3-3, 3-4-3 or 5-4-1.

So best of luck to The Big Phil and his men.

Nuno is the best, the hottest and has potencial! Ronaldo behave like star, he is so soft, one step then fall...

Sorry, but Nuno gomes is freaking terrible. He might be the worst starting striker in the whole competition. Start almeida.

Portugal will do well with the starting line up vs Georgia.

Nuno Gomes will play well.I think he might score vs turkey! If we cross the ball to Gomes in a good possision he will finish!

Simao,Deco and Ronaldo will make a good team on the attack with Moutinho and Petit in the center!

The defence will be strong with Pepe,Carvalho,Bosingwa and Ferreira. The attack of the other national teams will have trouble getting past Pepe and Carvalho two of the best in the world right now!

Ricardo will play well like in 2006!

We should make the Semifinals but i don't think we will win it.

2010 will be are year when we got Nuno Gomes,Petit and Ricardo out of the squad! that brings in Djalo,Almeida,Veloso and Patricio

Forca Portugal we will exite the tournment happy!

We need a bunch of players to perform well, but if I have to pick one I'll go with Deco, he's the maestro of the midfield and most of the offense will flow through him. Lets hope he delivers.

Quaresma and Simao... If they can produce wether starting or coming in as a substitute..

Face it, we dont have a team built like man u, and cristiano is coming off a long busy, physical season.. we wont be in tip top form ( i hope i am wrong)

Deco/Moutinho/Petit as a midfield are going to be great..

    Defense is good as usual...

nuno gomes, wont do a thing, hugo almeida will be a slight upgrade..

    so..yeah..quaresma and simao.
