Post-match thoughts after Sporting 1-1 Belenenses
Matt Jones added to his reputation as one of the best goalkeepers playing in Portugal with an excellent individual display to help Belenenses earn a 1-1 draw at the Alvalade on Saturday night. Speaking exclusively to PortuGOAL, Jones talks about the match, why Belenenses have made such a dramatic improvement from last season, team-mate and new striker sensation Deyverson and his future ambitions.

On Sporting 1-1 Belenenses:
“We started off well with a positive attitude. We went into the game to win it and I think that showed.”
On difference between this season and last:
“Last season everything that could have gone wrong did go wrong. This year we’ve started off well which makes a huge difference. It gives you confidence.”
On Deyverson:
“He’s a great player – he’s shown everybody just how good he is. He’s worked hard and is reaping the benefits.”
On individual ambitions:
“I try not to think too much about that because it can affect your game and your concentration. Obviously I want to play at the highest level possible.”
