Porto complete Telles capture

FC Porto have completed the transfer of Galatasaray left-back Alex Telles for a €6.5 million fee.

Telles, who was on loan at Inter Milan last season, has signed a five-year-deal with 'Os Dragões' after weeks of speculation and will soon join the rest of the squad in Germany for pre-season training.

Going the other way, along with the transfer fee, is Porto midfielder Josué on a one-year-loan in what will be his second spell in Turkish football.

Upon signing, 23-year-old Telles spoke of his ambitions in Portugal and his delight to finally be in Porto colours, a club reportedly after the Brazilian since his Gremio days in 2013.

“For me, it’s a dream come true to sign for Porto, which is a club I’ve followed closely ever since I was a kid in Brazil,” Telles said.

“I’m very happy to be here and I want to give my all, showing every day just why Porto signed me. I’ve just told my family that I don’t want to pass-by [at Porto]. I want to leave a legacy, a story.”

In his time in Europe, Telles gained Champions League experience with Galatasaray in 2014 before appearing 22 times on loan at Inter Milan last season.

Telles, who can also play left wing, will initially compete with Porto’s standout performer Miguel Layún for the left-back spot in Nuno Espírito Santo's side.
