Keirrison flies to Fiorentina

Brazilian unable to adapt with Benfica

keirrison_glorioso.jpgBenfica have allowed highly-rated striker Keirrison move to Serie A with Fiorentina as the player was deemed surplus to requirements under Jorge Jesus.

The Brazilian arrived at Benfica just before the close of the summer transfer window on a two-year loan from Barcelona. The former Palmeiras man was to get his feet wet in the European game as space was limited with the Blaugrana.

It wasn't any better in the Portuguese capital as the 21-year-old only made a total of six appearances and had to fight for playing time with the likes of Cardozo, Saviola, Nuno Gomes and Weldon.

It is not expected that Benfica would have dipped into the transfer market to bring in another striker as the club already signed Kardec and Eder Luis over the last few weeks.

wait and see
Another player "not good" for benfica that will become a star...yes barcelona are stupid considering they just won the treble with almost all home grown young players who are already stars at a young age yet they go out and pay a fortune for this "overrated" young player?lol hmmm seems like your logic is off.You benfica fans can be absurd.

I was disappointed how he didn't manage to score a league goal for Benfica, but when he had chances to score he didn't make it happen. Barcelona only bought this kid because they know someone is willing to bid high for this kid.

I agree with you Roberto, why would they pay 14-15million for this kid. Saviola & Cardozo cost less put together and perform amazingly. Spain and England will ruin soccer with the way they over price the market.
