Guimaraes look to continue good run

Sergio wants team to have a new "mentality"

paulosergio2.jpgAfter the international break and a weekend decicated to the Portuguese Cup, the championship resumes this Friday with the red-hot Vitoria Guimaraes paying a visit to the Algarve to face Olhanense.

The vimarense are undergoing a resurgence since Paulo Sergio was appointed head coach as the team have racked up four wins, a draw and a lone defeat in all competitions. The last thing that the Guimaraes boss wants his pupils to do is to take their foot off the accelerator heading into their match against Jorge Costa's men.

"We will have a match at Olhao which will be even more difficult than the one we had at the Estadio da Luz," said Sergio. "This is the mentality that we should have. Vitoria must approach this game with the utmost seriousness in order to obtain a result that interests us."

As for his opponents,  Sergio feels that Olhanense pose a serious threat towards his team's objectives and will not allow himself to look past them.

"They started the championship strongly, having brought a lot of confidence with them from the season prior. They had a cycle of difficult matches, and despite playing well, they did not win. That unsettles the team a bit, but the quality is there."
