Benfica's XI is their strength - Micael

Nacional forward praises Lisbon side

ruben_micael_torsten_frings.jpgThe feature match this round will occur tomorrow when Benfica host Nacional and according to forward Ruben Micael, his team will approach it without fear and look to come away with maximum points.

The Portuguese midfielder has been a sensation since he burst onto the scene with the Maderia outfit last season and his exploits have helped Nacional earn a spot in the Europa League, where he has found the back of the net four times thus far.

Unfortunately for Micael and company the goals haven't necessarily materialised into wins during the group phase of the competition, whereas Benfica, who are also participating in the same tournament, are coming off of a 5-0 demolition of Everton.

The encarnados' recent result has forced everyone in Portugal, and abroad, to take notice, including Micael, but it still does little to intimidate the forward and the player is heading into the fixture with confidence.

"These are completely different competitions," stated Micael. "Benfica, until now, have been very strong. I don't know how many goals they have scored at home, but there have been a lot. As a result, we have to be very careful. It's the eleven players, Benfica at the moment are very strong, especially from their midfield forward."

"This season we went to the Dragao, and other stadiums in the Europa Leauge, and we went toe-to-toe with our opponents. We won't go to the Luz and change this because if we do, we run the risk of suffering a lot of goals."

"I won't be a hypocrite - a draw is a good result. But we will play to win and not just draw. This I can guarantee."

Game result: 6-1 to Benfica, Saviola(2), Cardozo(3) and Gomes(1) in a demolition game. Encarnados are now in first place with Braga, but with 30 goals, just in 8 games.
Get him in the Seleccao

I'd like to see Quieroz call up Ruben Micael into the seleccao. He could be a very useful option and has shown in the Europa League in particular that he isn't intimidated playing against the bigger sides, and has a good eye for goal.
Huh?

Is he saying that Benfica's bench is weak? Anyways it's going to be a good game.
