Sporting flop Angulo leaves Lions after 97-day stay

Spanish midfielder and club agree to rescind contract

Migule Angel Angulo and alongside Sporting presidentThe Sporting career of Spanish midfielder Miguel Angel Angulo came to close after just 97 days this weekend, as the player and club agreed to rescind his contract.

The former Valencia hero was a surprise purchase on transfer deadline day by the Lions, but failed to make an impression at the Alvalade.

Angulo and new coach Carlos Carvalhal came to the conclusion this weekend that it would be best if the two parted ways.

The Sporting coach was at pains to praise the conduct of the former Spain international during his time at the club and during the meeting that led to the joint decision to terminate his contract.

“He is a person with a strong personality. I spoke to him eye to eye and told him what I thought his position at the club was. He showed tremendous character. It was Angulo himself who took the option. He acted in the true Sporting spirit, showing enormous dignity.”

I know he's a legend at Valencia but what a waste of a transfer for Sporting. Not only does Sporting have a result crisis they have transfer crisis as well. Sporting doesn't have the money to buy decent players outside of Portugal. Sporting's upper staff has been the problem these past years they need a better transfer director and a new president.
quaresma is needed

recently sporting has played in a 4-3-3, but they still manage to score 1 goal a game. Liedson is good, but hasn't had many opportunities to score. Postiga is haveing an awful year in front of goal and Saleiro and Caicedo have been mediocre. Sporting can continue this formation, but they need a quality winger. If they can get either Quaresma/Nani on loan it would be a huge help. They also need a better striker.
Cai-Cedo lol

If Sporting keep making this types of transfers, they'll never get anywhere. They need to sell some players in order to get new ones because of there financial status. Forca Benfica
