Caicedo set to leave Sporting early - report

Striker to return to England

Sporting are hoping to terminate the loan agreement with Manchester City for striker Felipe Caicedo in January, according to reports in England.

The Ecuadorian has struggled to make an impact at Alvalade, having failed to find the net so far since joining the Lions on a one-year deal in August.

English paper The Daily Mirror claims the 21-year-old has been deemed surplus to requirements by Carlos Carvalhal, and Sporting hope to send the player back to Manchester in January.

The move comes days after it was announced that another summer capture, Miguel Angulo, was to leave the club after just 97 days in the capital.

With the signing of Mozambique defender Edson Sitoe already confirmed for January, the Lisbon club are wasting no time in reshaping their first-team squad following a disastrous first half of the season.

Oh No! we're getting him back?!...........he eat all our pies last year!! Who said he looked great at City last season? he's absolutely awful. Positional play is shocking (offside constantly) and he's as agile as a brick. I liked Sven but this wasn't one of his better buys i'm afraid.

Good i hope this is true because he hasn't shown any upside at Sporting. This guy got worse in terms of being offside more often than not, That was a problem back at city and continued at Sporting. And lets not forget this hapless player missed point blank chances in front of the net. Too much of a brute and doesnt use his size well. Come January Sporting I think need to take a page from Porto/ Benfica and look at some young up and coming south american players.(Every year Porto sells 1 or 2 quality players, get cheaper ones and they still compete every year in liga Sagres) Micheal in London I agree with everything you said except for maybe Saleiro even though he has not shown much. He has been seldom used and since Yannick is still out injured we need another forward

Forca Sporting!!!
Good stuff

It looks like his time in Sporting is falling early like his name, Cai-Cedo lol...Really surprised he didn't make it with Sporting though...I mean I've seen him play with Money City last season and he looked great...Just goes to show you that the Portuguese league is no pushover
Bye Bye Caicedo

Well, if this is true, that's another bit of good news after the departure of Angulo !!! Neither of these players are good enough !! Now, get rid of Abel, Grimi, Marques, Postiga and Saleiro, replace them with some good players and we might mean business !!!
Sporting Sempre !!
