Leiria select Caixinha as new manager

Club also announces Diogo Amado signing

LeiraStadium.jpgIt did not take Uniao de Leiria long to find a replacment for departed coach Lito Vidigal. The club announced that Pedro Caixinha will be the new man to take over the bench duties for the Lis.

Caixinha's main experience was an assitant to former Sporting boss Jose Peseiro, but Leiria feel that they have done their due diligience and opted for the best candidate.

"Pedro Caixinha is a young coach, just like others that we've had. He was chosen because he meets the conditions to work with this group," said club preseident Joao Bartolemeu.

In other club news, Leiria also announced that they have signed defensive midfielder Diogo Amado. The 20-year-old put pen to paper on a three-year deal.
