Fernandes not intimidated by BenficaLeiria coach to exploit Lisbon side's weaknesses Fresh from their 4-0 thrashing of Vitoria Setubal, Uniao de Leiria will have a much stiffer opponent this weekend when the club hosts Lisbon side Benfica. Leiria boss Manuel Fernandes is not in the least bit rattled with the upcoming fixture.
Leiria are coming off of their first win of the season and know that Setubal are not in the same class as Benfica, but Fernandes also won't be pushed around by the Aguias' recent set of results either. "I am not frightened, but clearly their current form is of concern for any coach," said Fernandes on Antena 1. "I am not going to try and be a hero, but I will promote a team who will give their best against Benfica and counter their favouritism. I will not be thinking about defending , but I also know that we won't own the match or that Benfica don't deserve special attention." "I've also taken note that the Benfica players are very healthy or maybe they don't put out much of a physical effort because of all the running they do in training. But if it weren't like this, they wouldn't be as fresh as they have shown in their matches." As for carving out any weaknesses in Benfica's game, Fernandes added that when Benfica go on the attack, he will instruct his players to look for any gaps that the Lisbon outfit may leave open when they are on the offensive. by Marco Pereira

that don't know when to shut up. It surprises me the lack of respect Benfica has been receiving. Here comes another thrashing. Leiria? Wow!!! ANOTHER NO NAME coach hoping maybe to get a job somewhere in the Middle East. Nobody and I mean no one has a squad that can match Benfica in all of Portugal. Their team is rock solid
