RUSSIA: Portugal hero Eder scores in Lokomotiv draw [video]

Portuguese international Eder continued his good goal scoring start to the Russian Premier League season with Lokomotiv Moscow’s opener in a 1-1 draw at Ufa on Saturday afternoon.

The former Académica and Braga forward’s neat touch and finish put Lokomotiv ahead approaching the hour mark at the Neftyanik Stadium, making it four goals from just seven starts in the league for Eder so far this term.

Lokomotiv, who were without summer recruit João Mário, failed to see out the remaining third of the match, as Rihat Zhemaletdinov’s trip on Artem Golubev resulted in a penalty for the hosts which was converted by Lovro Bizjak. Lokomotiv ended the match with a remarkable eight yellow cards from just 16 fouls.

Meanwhile, Lokomotiv released a list of five players in the running for their Player of the Month for October, with both Portuguese on the shortlist. João Mário and Eder are joined by Benedikt Howedes, Murilo and Aleksei Miranchuk on the voting card, which will run until Monday.
