Great podcast, guys! Some very interesting points were raised throughout.

We've undoubtedly got the deepest talent pool in the history of the Seleccao. You can certainly argue that we've had stronger starting 11's over the years, but I honestly can't recall a time when we have had so many quality Portuguese footballers plying their trade across Europe.

I agree with you guys regarding Bernardo Silva's best position. He has shown flashes of his undeniable quality on the right-wing (and he has been playing quite well in that well in recent weeks for City), but he's definitely played his best football in the heart of midfield. If we are to truly reach the potential of this exciting new generation of Portuguese youngsters, Fernando Santos is going to have to devise a tactical scheme that gets the very best of it's most talented player.

I personally wouldn't be opposed to seeing us line up in a 3-5-2 formation. That system is quite rare in Portuguese football, and I highly doubt Santos will veer away from using a back four, but I actually think it suits the characteristics of some of our most talented players.

Portugal is famous for producing elite wingers, but at this current moment in time, the majority of our most creative players are actually second-strikers/#10's (Bernardo, Bruno Fernandes, Diogo Jota, Joao Felix) and wing-backs (Cancelo, Guerreiro, Semedo, Ricardo, Dalot, etc), so I think it would make sense to utilize a system that would enable these players to excel in their preferred roles.

Based on this podcast I have come up with a 3-4-1-2 model

the back line is Dias Fonte Pepe
the mid field is Raphael William Neves Cancelo
attacking mid Bernardo
striking Felix Ronaldo
