Portuguese Abroad goals round-up: Nuno Tavares golaço!; Guedes brilliance in Spain; Ribeiro scores against Bayern; Trincão brace; Ronaldo back with goal; Essugo opens French account; Bruno Jordão stars in Bulgaria; Bragança’s first Serie A goal

Another highly productive weekend for Portuguese scorers abroad was led by some outstanding strikes, particularly by Nuno Tavares with Lazio, Gonçalo Guedes at Real Sociedad and Bruno Jordão for CSKA Sofia. Dário Essugo and Danuel Bragança opened their accounts in France and Italy respectively, while Cristiano Ronaldo, Francisco Trincão and Paulinho also made their mark.

Videos:

Nuno Tavares of Lazio hit a stunner in the 3rd minute to set the unbeaten side from the capital to a 3-1 victory over Monza.

Former Sporting man Rodrigo Ribeiro scored for Augsburg in their 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich, with the 21-year-old's goal briefly putting his side 2-1 up in the second half.

Gonçalo Guedes was at his best in Spain this weekend, brilliantly finishing off a Real Sociedad counter attack as they beat Deportivo 3-2 in La Liga.

Daniel Bragança was named Player of the Match after his first goal in Italian football helped Torino beat Udinese 2-1 at home in Serie A on Monday night.

Bruno Jordão was the star man for Bulgarian giants CSKA Sofia this weekend, scoring the first and last goal to give them a 3-2 win at FC CSKA 1948. The second of Jordao’s brace was especially stunning, not least because it arrived in the final minute to win the match.

David da Costa scored for the second consecutive week in the United States with Portland Timbers, notching the opener as his side drew 3-3 at Sporting Kansas City.

Francisco Trincão has been a huge influence in the Saudi Arabian Pro League since his summer move from Sporting, with the Portugal man bagging two goals for Al Ahli in their last domestic outing – a 4-0 win at Al Fateh.

Cristiano Ronaldo returned to club football in fine fashion, scoring for Saudi champions Al Nassr in their 3-0 win over Al Diriyah.

Samú Costa also registered in Al Nassr’s victory, making it three goals in just seven Pro League outings for the midfielders since joining from Mallorca.

Dário Essugo is off the mark in France following his late summer loan move to Strasbourg from Chelsea, although Hugo Oliveira’s men suffered a 2-1 loss at Nice.

Veteran striker Paulinho also scored in vain this weekend, as his goal for Toluca came in a 3-2 defeat at Tigres in Mexico’s Liga MX.

Cláudio Braga’s Heart of Midlothian enjoyed their biggest win of the season so far in the Scottish Premiership, with the forward among the goals in a 5-0 win over St Mirren.

Former Benfica man Rafael Luís scored his first goal in Turkish football from just his second start with Genclerbirligi, hitting the back of the net with a classy free-kick in their 2-2 draw with Amedspor.

The rest:

Ex-Portimonense defender Filipe Relvas scored his first goal of the season in Greece with champions AEK, nodding in the opener during their 3-0 win over OFI Crete. In neighbouring Cyprus, Joao Tavares struck for AEL Limassol in a 2-1 home victory over Omonia.

Former Benfica man Tiago Dantas scored from the penalty spot in Croatia, but could not prevent his Rijeka side from going down 4-1 to Slaven Belupo. In Romania, Sergio Ribeiro’s penalty helped Corvinul beat Voluntari 3-2 in the Superliga, while in Indonesia Eduardo Barbosa scored twice to give Persik Kediri a 2-0 win over Madura United.

Finally, the Bulgarian league continues to provide regular scorers beyond Bruno Jordão’s exploits. Elsewhere in the efbet League, André Alves struck for Dunav Ruse in their 3-2 win at Septembri Sofia, for whom André Liberal was a scorer, while Boubacar Hanne’s goal gave Spartak Varna a 1-0 victory at Botev Vratsa.
