FC Porto 2-0 Estrela Amadora

FC Porto have returned to winning ways after defeating Estrela da Amadora 2-0 at the Estádio do Dragão, this Saturday, making it their first victory in three games.

The Dragons held a 1-0 advantage going into the break courtesy of key performer Galeno, finding the back of the net in the 35th minute.

Sérgio Conceição’s men secured the three points in front of their home crowd with a second goal from João Mário in the 56th minute, taking third-placed Porto up to 48 points for the season.

Benfica secured a narrow 2-1 victory at the Estádio da Luz to take an advantage in the first leg of their Europa League playoff tie versus Toulouse.

The Lisbon side will consider themselves fortunate after two second half penalties proved to be the difference in a tightly-contested match.

Young Boys 1-3 Sporting

A potentially tricky away trip proved anything but as Sporting continued their excellent form to beat Young Boys 3-1 in Bern this afternoon and put themselves in prime position to reach the last 16 of the Europa League.

An own goal by Aurèle Amenda, a Viktor Gyökeres penalty and a Gonçalo Inácio header got the job done for the Lions, with Filip Ugrinic keeping the Swiss team’s faint hopes of pulling off a shock in the second leg alive.
