Jorge Jesus leaves Al Hilal

Portuguese boss Jorge Jesus is a free agent after leaving Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal by mutual consent, less than a year after joining the club.

Jesus’ refusal to commit his future to the club beyond this season has seen both parties agree to rescind his deal, despite Al Hilal leading the Saudi Professional League by three points.

Former Braga, Benfica and Sporting coach Jesus arrived in Riyadh last June after leaving Estádio Alvalade. The 64-year-old signed a one-year deal in Saudi Arabia and the team currently lead the table by three points.

However, has refused to entertain the idea of extending his deal with Al Hilal and has already expressed a desire to return to Portuguese football. As such, the club have opted to end Jesus’s contract early and appoint Zoran Mamic as his replacement.

Al Hilal are three points clear of Rui Vitória’s Al Nassr at the top of the Saudi Pro League with 17 games played out of 30.
