Benfica have completed the signing of two wingers: highly rated FK Partizan Belgrade teenager Andrija Živković on a free transfer, and Argentinean Óscar Benítez.

The Serbian winger’s contract with Partizan officially expired on the 30th June 2016, with the 19-year-old now signing a five-year-deal with Benfica, as confirmed by the club last night.

Benfica’s reported interest in Živković spans almost two years, a time in which the winger not only became the youngest player to represent his country at the age of 17, but also Partizan’s youngest ever captain with the same age.

Benfica and Atlético Madrid have agreed terms over the long-awaited €25 million transfer of Nicolás Gaitán to the Spanish club.

Gaitán had long been referred to as Atlético-bound after being reduced to tears in the final game of Benfica’s season and is now given the green light to go and complete any formalities in his future deal with ‘Los Colchoneros’.

The 28-year-old is to complete Argentina's Copa America campaign first in the United States, they are currently in the quarter-finals, before flying to Spain for his medical.

Most of the focus is on a somewhat high-profile event going on in France, but back in Portugal both Sporting and FC Porto are busy building their squads to challenge three-time champions Benfica in 2016/17.

Sporting have signed Serbian holding midfielder Petrovic, while Porto have added Brazilian centre-back Felipe to their ranks.

FC Porto have appointed Nuno Espírito Santo as the club’s new head coach. The former Porto goalkeeper has signed a two-year contract and takes over from José Peseiro, whose brief tenure at the Estádio do Dragão terminated earlier this week.

“It’s a very emotional moment. It’s an enormous pleasure and honour to know that I am the person FC Porto entrusted to coach the team,” said the 42-year-old.
