Álvaro Pacheco’s time at Vasco da Gama has come to an end after just one month in Brazil, during which he failed to win any of his four Brasileirão matches in charge.

Pacheco’s dismissal was confirmed on Thursday, following a 2-0 defeat at Juventude. According to the local press, the decision was made purely for football reasons, with both the club’s fans and board unimpressed with the Portuguese’s performance.

Fábio Silva is likely to be on the move again this summer. At the age of just 21, the Wolverhampton Wanderers striker has already played for five clubs in five different countries, with the next step likely to take in a new 6th league according to his agent.

Italian giants AC Milan have confirmed the arrival of Portuguese manager Paulo Fonseca on a three-year contract at San Siro.

Fonseca left Lille at the beginning of the month, opting against extending his contract after two years in France, at the end of which he secured a spot in the Champions League qualifiers for Les Dogues.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have completed the signing of Portuguese wideman Rodrigo Gomes on a long-term deal from Braga for a reported €15m fee.

Gomes joins Wolves’ Portuguese contingent on a contract until 2029 with the option of a further deal, and the under21 international was unveiled to the media on Wednesday evening.
