The top two met in Greece’s Super League this weekend with champions PAOK, led by Abel Ferreira, hosting Pedro Martins’ Olympiacos in Thessaloniki on Sunday evening.

Table toppers Olympiacos emerged the victors through a 1-0 win, inflicting PAOK’s first home defeat in the league in almost two years and opening up a five-point gap at the top of the standings.

André Gomes completed his remarkable recovery from a fractured ankle by emerging as a second-half substitute for Everton in the Premier League against Arsenal, just 112 days after suffering the injury.

Gomes had been out since November 3^rd when he was the victim of an ankle injury which shocked those in attendance against Tottenham at Goodison Park. With Gomes taken immediately to hospital for an operation, many feared his season and chances of participating in the European Championships were minimal.

Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-0 Norwich City

Diogo Jota scored a first-half double to put Wolverhampton Wanderers on their way to a comfortable victory over Norwich City in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

After the match Wolves boss Nuno Espírito Santo was full of praise for Jota, while there was typically high Portuguese involvement with the former Porto boss using six of his contingent during the win.

Manchester United 3-0 Watford

Portugal midfielder Bruno Fernandes put in a Man of the Match performance, including his first goal in English football, to help Manchester United to a 3-0 victory over Watford.

Fernandes won a first-half penalty from which he scored United’s opener, before later playing a role in goals for Anthony Martial and Mason Greenwood as the Red Devils strengthened their pursuit of a top four finish.
