Both players endured losing returns to action, but Carvalho and Guedes will be hoping to stay fit and regain their status as key figures for their club sides ahead of Portugal’s European Championships defence this summer.

Angers 0-2 Lille

Lille made it three wins in a row in Ligue 1 with a 2-0 victory at Angers on Friday night, lifting Christophe Galtier’s side up into 3^rd place in the French top flight.

The match saw Renato Sanches score his third goal of the season, and the Portuguese midfielder again received strong reports for his performance in the Lille midfield.

Portugal striker André Silva scored for the second time in the space of a few days as Eintracht Frankfurt hammered Augsburg 5-0 in the Bundesliga, while Gonçalo Paciência also made a late contribution in Germany.

Silva, who scored from the penalty spot in Frankfurt’s 3-1 midweek victory over RB Leipzig, headed in Frankfurt’s third against Augsburg when he met Filip Kostic’s cross with a simple finish shortly before the hour mark. It was the 24-year-old’s first league goal since early October when he netted against Werder Bremen.
