Speaking after the 4-3 victory for his side in Group E, Ronaldo continues to demonstrate he is revelling in his new lease of life in 2023, having endured a troublesome end to the previous year.

Olympique Lyonnais dropped to bottom of the table in France this week, with defeat to previous 18th place occupants Clermont at home seeing Les Gones now propping up the standings in Ligue 1.

It is a sobering reality for a club which dominated French football with seven consecutive national championships between 2002-2008, as well as proving a well-respected outfit across several impressive Champions League campaigns.

Roma 1-0 Monza

Just another quiet Sunday afternoon for José Mourinho in Serie A with Roma. The Giallorossi beat Monza at the Stadio Olimpico thanks to Stephan El Shaarawy last-minute strike, after which Mourinho was sent off for a provocative gesture to the opposition bench.

There was more to come during his post-match media duties, as Mourinho took the opportunity to taunt Monza’s Argentine midfielder Papu Gomez, who was recently issued a two-year ban following a failed drugs test.
