The German Bundesliga dominated much of the headlines for Portuguese Abroad goalscorers this week, with Gonçalo Paciência, André Silva and Tiago Tomás all scoring spectacular goals for their respective clubs on Sunday afternoon.
The other major story was Francisco Trincão’s goal for Wolverhampton Wanderers, who staged a late comeback from two goals down to draw 2-2 at Chelsea having been inspired by the former Braga man. Elsewhere, there were goals for Mathias Lage in Ligue 1 and Josué in the Polish Ekstraklasa, as well as Adrien Silva in the UAE.
Portugal’s Bundesliga contingent were in fine form on Sunday afternoon, with three of the day’s matches in Germany containing Luso goalscorers. Leading the way was Tiago Tomás, who scored a superb early goal for VFB Stuttgart in their impressive 2-2 draw at champions Bayern Munich.
José Mourinho is back in another final. Portugal’s greatest manager of all time will lead Roma in the inaugural Europa Conference League final against Dutch side Feyenoord later this month, after the Giallorossi overcame Leicester City 1-0 [2-1 on aggregate] on Thursday night.

As leagues across Europe head into the final decisive weeks of action, Portuguese players were at the heart of several stories this weekend of clubs homing in on their targets. Most notable was Rafael Leão, who produced a late winner to give AC Milan the victory they needed to stay on top in Serie A with three games remaining.
