André Silva came off the bench to score twice and assist another as Eintracht Frankfurt recorded an impressive 4-1 win at Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga on Saturday.

The goals take Silva’s league tally into double figures and mean the former Porto man now has nine goals in his last 12 appearances for Frankfurt, who have now won three of their least four Bundesliga games.

Jorge Jesus has finally ended speculation over his future by extending his contract with South American champions Flamengo by a year until 2021.

The veteran Portuguese was nearing the end of the 12-month deal he signed last year, after which he made history by leading Flamengo to five major titles. Jesus’ achievements – particularly in winning the Copa Libertadores – has made him a huge favourite among the Rubro-negra supporters who eagerly awaited his commitment to further success.  

Portuguese striker André Silva scored for the third consecutive match to help Eintracht Frankfurt to a 3-0 win at Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga on Wednesday.

Silva’s header on the hour mark broke the deadlock to put Frankfurt 1-0 up and Stefan Ilsanker’s brace secured the points for the visitors. The goal was Silva’s fourth in his last five matches and means the former Porto man has nine goals from 14 appearances since the start of February.

The Polish Ekstraklasa kicked off again this weekend after a 12-week absence and Portuguese striker Flávio Paixão was the star of the show with a hat-trick as Lechia Gdansk beat neighbours Arka Gdynia 4-3 on Sunday.

All seven goals came in the final 40 minutes, after a stalemate in the first half. Paixão put his team 1-0 up from the penalty spot (50’) before later equalising the game at 2-2 on 76 minutes. Further goals for each side had the game level at 3-3 deep into injury time, when the veteran from Portugal again held his nerve to convert a winning 96^th-minute penalty.
