Rui Silva is widely expected to leave Spanish outfit Granada in the summer, with the Portuguese goalkeeper in high demand as he nears the expiration of his contract.

Silva has become one of the most reliable shot-stoppers in La Liga across the last two seasons, having helped Granada to their first-ever qualification for Europe last term. This season the former Nacional man has only missed one game for the Andalusians, who are 9^th in the Spanish league and recently beat Napoli 2-0 in their Europa League first-leg tie.

Bruno Fernandes scored twice as Manchester United took a commanding lead in their Europa League tie with Real Sociedad thanks to an impressive victory in Turin. The Portugal midfielder made it five goals in his last four starts with the brace, as United all but booked their place in the next round with a 4-0 win.

Elsewhere, José Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur  look set to join United in the last 16 after they beat Austrians Wolfsberger 4-1 in Budapest, while there were also wins for Pedro Martins’ Olympiacos and Luís Castro’s Shakhtar Donetsk on a good night for Portuguese coaches.

Everton 1-3 Manchester City

Bernardo Silva gave more indication he is getting back to his best with a Man of the Match performance in Manchester City’s 3-1 win over Everton at Goodison Park.

The Portugal midfielder scored one and registered an assist on Wednesday evening as the Premier League leaders extended their advantage at the top of the table to ten points with yet another victory.

Another highly productive week for Portuguese abroad saw the English-based contingent particularly effective in finding the back of the net, with Bruno Fernandes and Pedro Neto making the headlines with superb individual goals.

There were also goals for Ruben Neves and Hélder Costa in the Premier League, as well as Alfa Semedo in the Championship, while Andre Silva’s prolific season continues in Germany and Nelson Oliveira scored twice for Greece’s AEK.
