Rui Silva has completed his long-awaited move from Granada to fellow La Liga side Real Betis on a five-year contract, the Spanish club confirmed on Friday afternoon.

Granada had already announced the 27-year-old would leave the club on a free transfer after his contract expired this summer, and Silva was widely expected to stay in Spain despite interest from Italy and England.

Bruno Lage has been officially unveiled as the new coach of Wolverhampton Wanderers, succeeding countryman Nuno Espírito Santo at Molineux.

Lage returns to football almost a year after resigning at Benfica following 18 months in charge at Estádio da Luz, during which time he won the Primeira Liga in 2018-19. The Wolves job represents the second managerial role of Lage’s career.

Said to be earning $70 million per season from his current deal at Juventus, alongside a further $50 million each year from endorsements, few sporting celebrities can match the worldwide appeal of Cristiano Ronaldo.

However, the 36-year-old Portugal international could have reached a crossroads in his illustrious career, amidst considerable speculation he is weighing up a departure from the Italian giants.

Leonardo Jardim is back in football after being officially announced as new coach of Saudi Arabian champions Al-Hilal, reportedly on a one-year contract.

Jardim has been out of the game for around 18 months since being fired by French side Monaco in December 2019. The former Braga, Sporting and Olympiacos boss has been living in Monaco since his dismissal and inevitably saw his name linked with a host of jobs across the game while out of action.
